About

The Future Scholars programme aims to support students in years 10-13 from Black African Caribbean backgrounds as they transition to university.

Our Flagship “Choices” event in spring is designed to support students in year 10-13 and parents or carers looking to understand the UK higher education system and make informed decisions.

Our Year 13 Cohort programme is designed to support the transition from sixth form/ college to university. It involves online and in person workshops supported by a team of black professionals and academics.

Our Mentoring Programme is an extension of our Year 13 programme providing peer support to foundation year and 1st year university students to ease the transition.

The programme is a Leading Routes initiative and is now in its sixth cohort. Leading Routes is a social enterprise with a mission to prepare the next generation of Black academics. Their work focuses on strengthening the academic pipeline for Black students, from a Black-led perspective.
